An Illinois man was accused of automatic homicide for purportedly shutting the top of a hot tub in his patio while his better half endeavored to get out, police said.

Eric Huska, 58, was captured regarding the Feb. 9 passing of his better half, Laura Huska, 57, whose demise was ruled a manslaughter by the Cook County medicinal analyst.

Police said home security film demonstrates the couple savoring the hot tub on Saturday evening.

At the point when Laura unsuccessfully attempted to get out, the recording demonstrates her significant other at first endeavoring to support her.

He is then observed halfway shutting the top of the hot tub and returning into the house while Laura can be seen attempting to escape the hot tub all alone, Wheeling police said in an announcement.

Experts said liquor was a main consideration in Laura's passing.

"It's a heartbreaking occurrence," Deputy Chief Todd Wolff told the Chicago Tribune. "Lamentably the lady kicked the bucket. Liquor and hot tubs don't blend."

It is hazy what Eric did in the house yet he came back to the terrace a hour and a half later and opened the cover of the hot tub and discovered his significant other oblivious and gliding in the water.

Eric called 911 and paramedics transported his significant other to an adjacent medical clinic where she was articulated dead.

Eric was discharged from prison on a $10,000 individual recognizance bond, as indicated by the Associated Press. His next court appearance is planned for Thursday evening. His legal counselor did not promptly react to a demand for input.
